FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is GAUMRIT GHEE?
GAUMRIT GHEE is traditionally prepared ghee inspired by the authentic Indian Bilona method. Our focus is on traditional preparation, quality ingredients and the rich aroma and taste associated with traditionally made ghee.
What is the Bilona method?
The Bilona method is a traditional Indian way of preparing ghee. Milk is first transformed into curd, the curd is traditionally churned to separate makkhan (butter), and the butter is then heated to prepare golden ghee.

Traditional Bilona Process
From A2 Desi Cow Milk to Traditional Ghee
At GAUMRIT GHEE, we believe that traditional preparation matters. Our ghee is prepared using the traditional Bilona process, beginning with A2 Desi Cow Milk and following the traditional journey from milk to curd, curd to makkhan and finally to ghee.
Discover the traditional process behind every jar of GAUMRIT GHEE.
Step 1 — A2 Desi Cow Milk
Our process begins with A2 Desi Cow Milk.
We believe that quality ghee begins with quality milk, which is why the milk used for GAUMRIT GHEE is sourced from desi cows.
Step 2 — Traditional Curd Preparation
The milk is traditionally converted into curd.
This traditional step forms an important part of the Bilona process and prepares the curd for the next stage.
Step 3 — Traditional Bilona Churning
The curd is traditionally churned using the Bilona method to obtain makkhan.
This is the step that gives the process its traditional character and distinguishes Bilona preparation from many modern methods of making ghee.
Step 4 — From Makkhan to Ghee
The makkhan is then slowly heated to transform it into aromatic, golden ghee.
Through this traditional journey, the final product develops the rich aroma and authentic taste associated with traditionally prepared ghee.
